What’s inside

  • Finds what fits

    Recognises movies and TV episodes from file and folder names and searches the data online as you type. The match list shows how complete each match is.

  • Writes into the file

    MKV, MP4 and M4V, so Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, Kodi, Apple TV, Windows Explorer and VLC all show everything correctly. Your files stay playable.

  • Batch processing (planned)

    Recognise, check and write whole folders and seasons in one go instead of handling each file on its own.

  • Several files at once

    Assign episodes in a multi-selection, in the right order, and edit shared fields together.

  • You stay in control

    Edit every field and lock single fields so a new search doesn’t overwrite them. Changes are collected and written in one go.

  • Chapters

    View and edit chapters. VideoTagger writes them into MKV and MP4 so that as many players as possible show them.

  • Covers from the matches

    Pick a cover from the pictures of the match, fitted into a square.

  • Ready for media centers (planned)

    If you like, an NFO file, poster.jpg, fanart.jpg and episode image right next to the video.

  • Also planned

    Editing covers or taking them from a frame of the video, help pages and automatic updates.
